Editorial desk and disclosure

Who publishes this site and what it measures

Kenya Gold Gram is an independent editorial desk. It publishes one figure: the price of a gram of gold in Kenyan shillings, recalculated from public sources. This page explains who does that work, how a figure is taken, how a correction reaches the desk, and how the site earns.

Who publishes this site

Kenya Gold Gram is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. The desk republishes a measurement taken from named public sources, with the date and the hour it was read. There is no Kenyan gold fixing: every figure below is the world gold price multiplied by a shilling rate.

Official columns use the Central Bank of Kenya rate; open-market columns use the Binance P2P dollar. Karats are the 24 karat gram times the karat over twenty-four. Sources are named under every table, with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher.

What the desk measures and how

The desk reads one world gold price and one shilling rate at a set hour, multiplies them, and divides the result down the karats. This is a derived, arithmetic figure, not a quote from a dealer. The desk does not ask a jeweller, a bank, or a bureau what they would charge; it does not print their boards. The figure describes what the metal costs at that hour in shillings, at the published rate.

A reader can repeat the calculation from the linked sources. The desk checks the sources before each update and republishes the hour with the figure. If either source is frozen or contradicts itself, the figure is held back until a fresh reading can be taken.

Why the hour is republished

The hour is republished because the shilling rate and the world price move. A figure read at nine in the morning can be stale by noon. By printing the hour, the desk tells the reader exactly when the measurement was taken, not that it is live now. The figure is a snapshot, not a feed.

The hour also makes a correction possible. If a reader finds a different figure at the same hour from the same sources, the desk can check its reading and correct it. Without the hour, a wrong figure would be harder to trace, and a correction would be less precise.

What the desk earns

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link, and is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This is the only commercial relationship the site has. No other company pays for placement on these pages.

Nothing on the site is investment advice, a recommendation or an offer. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy, and following the link leaves this site.
